Meet Alex Lamond

Alex Lamond is an Accredited Sports Dietitian and Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with a deep passion for performance nutrition. Currently the club dietitian for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Alex supports the NRL, NRLW, and development pathways, helping athletes fuel for peak performance both on and off the field.

His journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology and Microbiology, followed by a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics. While he started his career in private practice supporting those with metabolic disease, Alex quickly gravitated toward sports nutrition - working with Olympic-level combat athletes, elite AFL and NRL teams, and active individuals seeking to optimise their energy, performance, and body composition.

Alex specialises in performance nutrition, weight management, and fight preparation. He has supported Olympic boxers, Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu champions, and elite team athletes across AFL, NRL, and soccer. His real-world expertise has been applied to strategies like collagen integration for injury prevention, and designing individualised fueling plans that are practical, evidence-based, and easy to follow.

A firm believer that nutrition should be simple and enjoyable, Alex helps bridge the gap between elite sport and everyday life. He brings a culturally sensitive and inclusive approach to his work, as seen in his SBS feature on RED-S and cultural eating, and his published research on regional food patterns in Papua New Guinea.

Outside of nutrition, Alex has a rich athletic background, including national-level sailing, NPL soccer, and state-level fencing. He currently trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is always exploring new skills, like brushing up on Mandarin.

Alex collaborates with Famous Nutrition to bring evidence-based, performance-focused supplements to everyday athletes. You can follow his insights on Instagram at @alexlamondnutrition.
